The Philosophical Quest for Authenticity.

Academic:

Ayden Jacob completed his first degree at the Mayanot Institute of Jerusalem in Biological Ethics and Medical Law with the department’s highest honors. He subsequently received his A.A. and B.S. in Neuroscience, Biology, and Philosophy, Cum Laude, in the Gold Honors Scholars program at Yeshiva University, where he was the founder and president of The Neuroscience Committee. As an undergraduate, Ayden conducted cancer cell research, focusing on the efficacy of novel chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of breast cancer. Ayden was also awarded prestigious research fellowships at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the departments of reproductive molecular genetics, neonatology, and neurosurgery. As a biomedical research scientist at New York University, he executed high caliber research in the department of neuroradiology, where he detected the biochemical and molecular novelties of magnetic resonance imaging, diffuse tensor imaging and computed tomography as they pertain to diagnosing early stage neurodegenerative diseases and various forms of brain tumors. Ayden has also spread his expertise in the biomedical field to various countries in the Middle East and Africa, where he built clinics in rural areas for the diagnoses and treatment of malaria and HIV. As a fellow of the Quantitative Medical Imaging Lab at the University of Pennsylvania, Ayden researched novel nuclear imaging diagnostic techniques for brain tumors and traumatic brain injury via PET and PET/CT modalities. At the Institute of Neurological Sciences, under the directives of the world-renown nuclear medicine physician, Abass Alavi, Ayden continues to conduct innovative research on biomedical imaging methodologies, which enhance diagnostic and treatment capabilities for brain tumor and TBI patients. Ayden Jacob is a graduate from Oxford University, where he was a Medical Sciences Scholar at the Gray Institute for Radiation Oncology and Radiobiology. His research in this field included the utilization of medical physics biotechnology to detect the molecular mechanisms of radiosensitivity in brain tumor stem cells. His research focused on using high and low LET to treat glioma stem cells. Ayden Jacob is a member of the Golden Key International Honors Society, a National Merit Scholar, a member of the International Neuroethics Society and a Clinical Associate for the Society of NeuroInterventional Surgery. Ayden is currently conducting clinically relevant research in bioengineering and translational medicine at UCSF and UC Berkeley
